Brokenness—A Bridge, Not a Barrier | The Mid-Week Memo | February 19, 2025

Brokenness as a bridge rather than a barrier to spiritual growth

Too often, we see our brokenness as a barrier between us and God, something that disqualifies us from His love or hinders our growth. But what if our brokenness is actually a bridge? A sacred invitation into deeper intimacy with Him?

When we embrace our wounds, not as sources of shame but as pathways to healing, we begin to see God’s unchanging truth dismantle the false beliefs we’ve carried—about Him, ourselves, and others. Instead of striving to hide our brokenness, we bring it into His light, where transformation begins.

God doesn’t ask us to be whole before we come to Him; He invites us as we are so He can restore what’s been lost. Today, let your brokenness lead you toward Him, not away. In His hands, even our deepest wounds become the very places where His love is most fully revealed.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NIV)

This passage beautifully illustrates how our brokenness is not a barrier but a bridge to experiencing God’s power and grace. Instead of disqualifying us, our weaknesses become the very space where His strength is revealed.

Where is God inviting you to see your brokenness as a bridge today?

And that's the mid-week memo.
